The only way I can describe working with Rush Powers Media was that it was a relief. Dave’s expertise, paired with his easy calm, made this daunting project in a foreign (to me) medium seem like a piece of cake. It was like flying through turbulence and realizing the flight attendants aren’t at all worried. “If the pros think we’re fine, I feel fine too.” And even though I attended every minute of the filming, I was still wowed by the end product. When we showed it at our flagship alumni event, people loved it. One alumna said, “This college is really on the rise!” Since the whole point of producing the video was to make people think that very thought, I say with confidence our investment in Rush Powers Media was more than worth it.
Since research shows that videos increase consumers’ likelihood of selecting a physician, we began working with Rush Powers Media in late 2010 on a multi-year project to add video content to Find-a-Doctor, the physician directory on the Rush website. RPM has been responsive to our needs and to the project’s often unforeseen challenges—whatever they are and whenever they arise. They have proven themselves to be a team of creative, reliable and detail-oriented specialists in many aspects of video production, project management and communication. These physician profile videos, which support our brand of approachable medicine, are a testament to the dedication, expertise and countless hours that Leah, Dave and their team have given to this project.
Rush Powers Media was recommended to our office by the UIC College of Education, who has had a long working relationship with them. We began working with RPM in 2012 on several projects, each with deadlines often accelerated by the needs of the Chancellor and the office. Dave and his team take ownership of the project, understand our constraints and provide the best product possible within the set timelines.
Dave Powers and his team are very detail-oriented and ask multiple questions to ensure that RPM understands the direction of each project. This initial investment of time is worth it. Many of the videos produced by RPM have been featured at various high level board meetings, which have included the Board of Trustees, University of IL Foundation Board of Directors, University of IL Alumni Association Board, faculty senate meetings, college faculty meetings, student leadership council, etc. This has not been limited to key internal audiences, but also key external constituencies that have included elected officials and civic and community leaders.
After we finish one project with RPM, we often provide them with advance notice on when the next project will be so they can mark it on their calendars.
From start to finish, the creative process was professional and smooth. The resulting high-quality videos Rush Powers Media produced for us were engaging and brilliantly told our story of investigative journalism in the public interest. They’ve greatly aided our fundraising efforts.
It was a great pleasure working with Dave and the team from Rush Powers Media on our promotional video! They took the time to get to know our organization, and really understand what we do. They were very responsive to our needs and truly listened to our suggestions. In the end the video was amazing. It debuted at our gala event and was such a success.
