Rush University Medical Center Find-a-Doctor Profile Videos: Overview

Rush Powers Media is collaborating with Rush University Medical Center's marketing team to produce 30-to-60-second video clips for each doctor at the hospital. These videos bring the physician's credentials and personality to life and accompany their Find-a-Doctor online profile. Our responsibilities on the project include appointment scheduling coordination and project management, as well as shooting and interviewing each doctor, editing each interview into a clip for review, supervising the review process, and delivering the final version of each doctor's clip in a web-ready format. This overview video demonstrates a sampling of the different types of the nearly 475 doctors that have participated in the project thus far. It also features testimonial interviews from patients discussing how the videos have enhanced their healthcare experience. The Find-a-Doctor video profile campaign was awarded Best Healthcare Provider Online Video in the 2012 Internet Advertising Competition and has received several other awards.

UIC College of Education Recruitment Video

Rush Powers Media contracted with the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago to produce a recruitment video. The video illustrates the quality of the college's faculty, programs and students, and the success of its graduates. The story is told using event coverage, on-the-fly interviews and campus b-roll coupled with high-energy editing, graphics and music. Our role in the project included creative development, script writing, shooting, interviewing, graphics creation, video editing, and delivery of the finished video in web-ready and HD presentation formats.

About Global Integrity

Global Integrity hired Rush Powers Media to produce an "About" video that could be shown at meetings and presentations—and posted on their website. Our involvement included creative development, production planning, 3-D graphics creation, soundtrack creation, script writing, voice-over recording, video editing, and delivering the finished product as a high-definition file for presentations and in a web-ready format.

Orchard Village Promotional Video

Orchard Village, a nonprofit organization that provides supportive services to people with developmental challenges, hired Rush Powers Media to produce a promotional video that could be shown at fundraising events and meetings, posted on their website and used as an icebreaker to enhance other marketing opportunities. Our involvement included creative development, production planning, shooting interviews and documentary footage, video editing, creating graphics/text animation, and delivering the finished product on DVD, as a high-definition file for presentations, and in a web-friendly format.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America/UPS Road Code Kickoff Video

Rush Powers Media worked in collaboration with creative agency Marketing Support Inc. to produce a kickoff video for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America/UPS Road Code initiative. Our role included creative development, illustration, motion graphics creation, voice-over recording, audio/video/music editing and delivery of the finished video. This was named the Winner of the 2013 Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival and a Gold Winner in the 2012 MarCom Awards.

Rush Powers Media partnered with Rush University Medical Center's marketing team to create a 13-video series used to promote their Interventional Platform through social media and on their website. Our role in the project included project management, creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, capturing and directing live procedures, reenactments and scenic b-roll, creating motion graphics, video storytelling and editing, and delivery of each clip in a web-ready format. The series was a Platinum Winner in the 2014 MarCom Awards competition.

 

 

Advocate Health Care: Partnership with Slalom Consulting and Tableau Software

Slalom Consulting hired Rush Powers Media to produce a series of videos to support a joint Slalom/Advocate presentation at the Gartner Business Intelligence and Analytics Summit. After the event, we collaborated with Slalom to produce two additional videos—essentially repackaging the content originally captured for the presentation—that have been used in several marketing initiatives. The video above is one of the two videos created after the Summit. Our role in the production of all of the videos for this project included creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, capturing b-roll footage and screen shots of the featured software, video storytelling and editing, creating motion graphics and delivering the videos in an HD presentation format.

Why Are You Proud To Be A UIC Student?

We contracted with the Chancellor's office at the University of Illinois at Chicago to produce a student pride video that was shown during a Board of Trustees meeting. The video was focused on student research and features at least one student researcher from each of the university's 15 colleges. Our role in the creation of this video included creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, creation of motion graphics, video storytelling and editing, and delivering the video as a live presentation version and the web/promotional version seen here.

UIC Student Research Video

The Chancellor's office at the University of Illinois at Chicago has been contracting with Rush Powers Media to produce all of the video for their 60-minute Campus Insights presentations for the Board of Trustees. The video above was used at the conclusion of the January 2014 event, and it features at least one student researcher from each of the university's 15 colleges. Our role in the creation of this video included creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, capturing b-roll footage, gathering pre-existing photos, creation of motion graphics, video storytelling and editing, and delivering the video as a live presentation version and the web/promotional version seen here.

Hawthorne Race Course: "Down to the Wire" TV Commercial

Rush Powers Media was hired by marketing and communications company Agency360 to develop a TV and radio campaign for the Hawthorne Race Course 2012 racing season. The "Down to the Wire" theme was created to convey the high-energy thrill of live horse racing to general sports fans, as well as racing enthusiasts. RPM's responsibilities included creative development, voice-over casting and recording, and 3D motion graphics.  The TV commercial aired on broadcast and cable networks in the Chicagoland area. The radio spot ran on local radio stations in the Chicagoland area.

Serta iComfort Directions Video

Rush Powers Media collaborated with the creative agency Marketing Support, Inc. to produce two videos for Serta to promote their new iComfort Directions mattress and new adjustable bed foundation. We were provided design elements from existing packaging and merchandising along with pre-existing footage and a voiceover script. Our task was to take these elements—all created independently at various stages of the process—and create unified, effective videos with the appropriate tone, visual style and message. Our role in the project also included graphics development and animation, voice-over casting, direction and recording, audio/video/music editing and delivery of the final videos for use on the manufacturer's website.

Niagara Conservation Temperature-Controlled Showerhead Product Video

Rush Powers Media collaborated with creative agency, Marketing Support, Inc. to produce this video for Niagara Conservation to use as part of a sales presentation to a big box retailer. The product existed only as a prototype, and packaging and merchandising designs had not been developed. We created the look and feel for the video based on existing packaging designs for other products from the manufacturer. Our role in the project included scripting, voice-over casting/directing/recording, product illustration, motion graphics creation, video editing and delivery of the final video for use in the sales presentation.

Global Integrity Open Government Timeline Video

Rush Powers Media continues to collaborate with the non-profit organization, Global Integrity. This video was created to kick off a presentation on the New Frontiers of Open Government at the Open Government Partnership Summit in London. RPM used motion graphics and music in conjunction with photos and headlines to create a dynamic animated timeline that set the tone for the event.

The Center for Urban Education Leadership Promotional Video

Rush Powers Media contracted with the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago to produce a video for the launch of its Center for Urban Education Leadership. The video illustrates the mission of the newly created Center and highlights several success stories from the University's doctoral program in Urban Education Leadership, which the Center supports. Our role in the project included creative development, script writing, shooting, interviewing, graphics creation, video editing, and delivery of the finished video in web-ready and HD presentation formats.

Ivy's Story: Neonatal Intensive Care at Rush University Medical Center

Rush University Medical Center contracted with Rush Powers Media to produce a three-video series promoting their Neonatal Intensive Care services. Each video featured a testimonial interview from a family that benefited from the hospital's expert neonatal care. Our role in the project included, creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, gathering pre-existing photos, video storytelling and editing, and delivery of each clip in a web-ready format.

UIC College of Education: Why Become A Teacher?

Rush Powers Media contracted with the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago to produce a teacher recruitment video. The video features testimonial interviews from many of the College's alumni talking about why they love teaching and why the College is a great place to receive the training necessary to be a successful teacher in an urban school. The video also features footage from a variety of Chicago Public Schools and UIC classrooms. Our role in the project included creative development, shooting, interviewing, graphics creation, video storytelling, video editing, and delivery of the finished video.

UIC College of Applied Health Sciences Identity Video

Rush Powers Media contracted with the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago to produce an identity video. The goal of the clip was to highlight the breadth and depth of transformative research happening in the college. It premiered at an alumni event and is being used in a variety of marketing initiatives. Our role in the project included creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, capturing b-roll and screen shots of featured websites, creation of motion graphics, video storytelling and editing, and delivery of the finished video in web-ready and HD presentation formats.

Having a Baby at Rush University Medical Center

Rush University Medical Center contracted with Rush Powers Media to produce a three-video series that was integrated into their social media campaign promoting the opening of their new Family Birth Center. In addition to the "Having a Baby at Rush" video, we produced a video that focused on the design of the new facility and a video that highlighted the services provided in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our role in the project included creative development, shooting and conducting all interviews, capturing and directing reenactments, scenic b-roll and live facilities tests, creating motion graphics, video storytelling and editing, and delivery of each clip in a web-ready format.

Chicago Bulls Free Agent Sales Pitch: Carlos Boozer

Rush Powers Media were one of three production companies hired by digital sports media company Silver Chalice to produce a series of 21 videos for the Chicago Bulls' 2010 free agent campaign. The videos were presented on an iPad to the seven top free agents the Bulls were pursuing in the summer of 2010. The following link shows the video that played when Carlos Boozer—the only top free agent the Bulls signed (of the original seven they pursued)—powered up the iPad that was sent to him. We produced the lead, customized video for all seven free agents. Plus, we produced several other videos that were included on the iPad. We also shot several interviews with Bulls players/staff, as well as White Sox and Bears players for the project.

Xpressbet "On the Road" TV Commercial with Eddie Olczyk

Rush Powers Media was hired by marketing and communications company Agency360 to create a television commercial for online wagering company Xpressbet. The spot features hockey broadcaster, Eddie Olczyk, and was part of a celebrity spokesperson sponsorship package that Agency 360 designed for Xpressbet. Our role in the project included producing, directing and shooting new green screen footage of Eddie Olczyk, integrating that footage into an existing motion graphics-based Xpressbet commercial, and creating and delivering the new 30-second commercial.

Rush University Medical Center: Why Get A Second Opinion?

Rush Powers Media collaborated with healthcare and hospital marketing agency SPM to produce a video that was incorporated into an online advertising campaign for Rush University Medical Center. The campaign focused on the importance of getting a second opinion when spine surgery has been recommended to a patient. Our role in the project included shooting physician interviews, video storytelling and editing, and delivering the final video in a web-ready format.

This campaign has received recognition from several health care marketing awards and general marketing communications contests.

LiftMaster Garage Storage and Organization: Sales Experience Video

Rush Powers Media was hired by creative agency Marketing Support, Inc. to produce this sales experience video for LiftMaster. It is one of two videos created as part of a brand development project for a new line of garage storage and organization products and services. The goal of the videos was to educate the consumer on the sales and estimating process and the unique design application used by LiftMaster. Our production responsibilities included casting, studio production management, direction and shooting, video editing and motion graphics creation. The project also included management of all product and lifestyle photography needed for the new brand.

University of Illinois at Chicago College of Education Colloquium Series

Rush Powers Media was hired by the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Education to cover its three-part World Class Education Colloquium Series. We recorded several keynote speeches and panel discussions at each event—which we edited, added visuals such as PowerPoint slides, and delivered as full-length events and abbreviated highlights clips. We also simultaneously recorded sit-down interviews with key attendees at each event. We edited the best responses from the interviews into a series of distinct clips, each of them addressing 1-2 questions. ICIJ Promotional Video

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) hired Rush Powers Media to produce a promotional video that could be shown at international conferences/meetings and posted on their website. Our involvement included creative development, writing/recording voice-over narration, shooting interviews, video capturing web pages, overseeing the gathering of interviews and photos from journalists around the world, video editing, creating 3-D motion graphics and delivering the finished product on DVD and in a web-ready format.

Casa Central Scholarship Fund Video

Rush Powers Media developed this Scholarship Fund video with Casa Central to use as a fundraising tool at meetings and events. The video incorporates testimonials, b-roll footage, music and animated photos and graphics to create a compelling story. The Scholarship Fund video was one of two videos we produced for Casa Central's Hard to Reach campaign—which targeted families in Casa Central's community that were most in need of their services. Our role in the production of these videos included creative development, script writing, shooting, interviewing, graphics creation, video editing, and delivery of the finished videos in web-ready, DVD and HD presentation formats.

Boxeo Fitness Instructional/Demo Video

Rush Powers Media was hired by Rey Perez, a former professional boxer and current fitness instructor, to produce a demonstration video for Boxeo Fitness—the Latin dance/boxing hybrid workout he created. Our role included everything from concept development, script writing and logo/graphics creation to shooting, video editing and delivery of the final product on DVD and as a web-ready file. 

Brian J. Cole, MD, MBA: Addressing Patient Concerns

In conjunction with Rush University Medical Center, Rush Powers Media contracted with Sports Medicine/Orthopedic specialist Dr. Brian Cole to produce five promotional videos for his website, CartilageDoc.org. The videos provide a general overview of his practice, as well as address more specific topics and patient concerns. Our role in the project included shooting the interview with Dr. Cole, collaborating with him to determine how the content should be used, storytelling/video editing and delivery of the finished clips. We also created a list of footage that we felt would best illustrate the interview content we shot, and played an advisory role to the resident in Dr. Cole's practice who captured all of the footage in clinic, rehabilitation and surgical settings.

Donate Life Illinois Public Installation Video

Rush Powers Media collaborated with Carolyn Grisko & Associates, a strategic communications firm, to produce a 10-minute public installation video for Gift of Hope's National Donate Life Month campaign in April 2011. The video was originally installed in The Thompson Center in downtown Chicago, then continued to be publicly displayed around the state of Illinois for the remainder of 2011. Our responsibilities on the project included creative development, motion graphics creation, video editing and delivery of the final video as an HD file for display. (Note: This was a video-only project. There is no sound.)

Hawthorne Race Course: Camel and Ostrich Race

Rush Powers Media collaborated with marketing and communications company Agency360 to produce this video for Hawthorne Race Course to recap the atmosphere and activities at their annual Camel and Ostrich Race event. The video was used as content for Hawthorne's social media outlets. Our role in the project included shooting video coverage of the event, music and video editing, and motion graphics creation.

U.S. Cellular: Calling All Communities

For their 2011 Calling All Communities campaign, U.S. Cellular awarded a total of $1 million to the 18 schools across the country who garnered the most votes. Three of the winning schools were in northern Illinois. Rush Powers Media was hired by Carolyn Grisko & Associates, a strategic communications firm, to shoot footage and interviews at the parties that U.S. Cellular threw at each Illinois school to celebrate their $50,000 awards. We then quickly edited the footage into short, event highlights videos that were posted on U.S. Cellular's website.

Rush Powers Media produced a quarterly e-newsletter video for Carolyn Grisko & Associates, a strategic communications firm. Our involvement included creative development, shooting, video editing and delivery of the finished product in a web-ready format.

Nature Conservancy B-Roll

GreenMark Public Relations hired Rush Powers Media to shoot and edit footage for their client, the Nature Conservancy. After spending a half day documenting a group of Chinese scientists' visit to the Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge, we edited and delivered the footage as a b-roll package in HD for broadcast news coverage and as web-ready file for online promotional campaigns. 

Illinois Early Childhood Fellows

Rush Powers Media produced this promotional storytelling/recruitment video for Illinois Early Childhood Fellows. The video is a web-only companion piece that conveys the experience of being an IECF fellow and mentor, and the kind of person who would make a good candidate for the fellowship. Instead of being a detailed overview about the program, this video supplemented the information on the IECF website. Our role included creative development, shooting, video editing and delivering the finished clip in a web-ready format.

Illinois Revenue & Jobs Alliance: Frank Kirby

Marketing and communications company Agency360 hired Rush Powrs Media to produce a series of 10 videos to enhance the Illinois Revenue & Jobs Alliance campaign in support of legislative bill SB 1849. The videos included a series of interviews with horse owners whose horses compete at Illinois race tracks and Illinois union leaders, plus corresponding b-roll footage.  Our role included creative development, interviewing, shooting, video editing, motions graphics creation, and delivery in a web-ready format.

The Center for Public Integrity 20th Anniversary Video

The Center for Public Integrity hired Rush Powers Media to produce a promotional video for their 20th anniversary. The primary audience for the video is current and potential funders. Our involvement included creative development, shooting interviews and b-roll, video capturing web pages, acquiring footage, video editing and storytelling, and delivering the finished product on DVD and in a web-ready format.

Urban Initiatives: Axelson Award Winner

Rush Powers Media produced three video clips for the award ceremony at the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management's 12th annual symposium. After the finalists in each category were announced, the winner was revealed via the video clip playing on two large screens in the banquet room. Urban Initiatives was the 2011 Excellent Emerging Organization winner. The winners received their clip on DVD and in a web-ready format for use in future communications efforts. Our role in the project included script writing, voice-over recording, video editing, graphics/text animating and delivering the finished product in multiple formats.

The Bridge Youth & Family Services: Axelson Award Winner

Rush Powers Media produced three video clips for the award ceremony at the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management's 11th annual symposium. University of Illinois at Chicago College of Education Event Coverage

Rush Powers Media was hired by the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Education to cover their three-part World Class Education Colloquium Series. Each colloquium included the recording of the keynote speeches and a panel discussion, plus we recorded sit-down interviews with several of the key attendees at the events. We edited the footage down into shorter, more web-friendly clips and added PowerPoint slides, text IDs, graphics and music when appropriate. What is the Midwest Democracy Network?

Gun Control Press Conference: McDonald v. Chicago

The Joyce Foundation hired Rush Powers Media to edit together highlights from a McDonald v. Chicago press conference in Washington, D.C. The media event focused on the Supreme Court case that challenges the constitutionality of Chicago's handgun ban and other gun control regulations. The Joyce Foundation posted the highlights clip on their website and used it in communications efforts for their gun violence program.           

The Learning Institute Testimonial Videos: What separates them?

Rush Powers Media produced a series of six testimonial video clips for The Learning Institute's website. Our involvement in the collaboration with the educational company included creative development, writing questions, shooting interviews with seven of their clients, editing the interviews into six distinct clips, adding graphics, text animation and music, and delivering the clips in a web-ready format.

Z-Boys Story: Lords of Dogtown Act 1

Dave Powers was the producer and director of this MTV2 documentary-style show about the history of professional skateboarding. It was a promotional special for the film Lords of Dogtown (directed by Catherine Hardwicke, starring Emile Hirsch and Heath Ledger) that was hosted by Jim Shearer and features interviews with skateboard legends Stacy Peralta and Tony Alva, as well as the cast and director of the movie.             

Playlistism: SwiMP3 Segment

Dave Powers was the writer and producer of the investigative, news magazine-style series Playlistism on MTV2. He also field produced/directed some of the pieces in the show, including this segment about the SwiMP3, a revolutionary underwater MP3 player.             

Life In the Fast Lane Act 1 (Part 1)

Dave Powers was the co-producer and co-shooter of this MTV2 documentary-style special about the global car culture phenomenon. The show follows car customizer RJ DeVera and pro drag racer Christian Rado.

Hip Hop's Toughest Rhymes

Dave Powers was the co-creator, producer and eventually supervising producer of the hit MTV2 show Hip Hop's Toughest Rhymes, one of the most popular and longest-running original series in the channel's history. This is a portion of Act 1 of a 2005 episode. It includes videos by Trick Daddy and Busta Rhymes.

MTV2 Celebrity Interview Show Highlights

Highlights from MTV2 shows—including MTV2 Hip Hop, MTV2 Rock, Subterranean and 120 Minutes—where Dave Powers prepared the interview questions for the host, directed the host, guest talent and crew in the field or studio, and conducted an additional interview with the guest talent.            

Crash Course: Fat Joe

During his time as Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music television channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers co-created several weekly shows, including Crash Course--an in-depth look at an album and/or an artist. The Fat Joe Crash Course on his album "The Elephant in the Room," profiled both the artist and his latest album, and included an interview with Fat Joe. For this particular Crash Course, Dave wrote the script, directed the host reads in the studio and post produced the finished segment.            

Jazmine Sullivan "Need U Bad" Video Shoot

During his time as Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music television channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers oversaw the writing and editing of daily news segments, weekly shows and artist features. Occasionally, he wrote and produced segments himself, including this Jazmine Sullivan profile/making-the-video clip.

The Joyce Foundation: Digital Tools Panel Discussion Overview

The Joyce Foundation hired Rush Powers Media to shoot a 90-minute panel discussion about using digitial tools in the nonprofit sector. The two panelists played key roles in the digital efforts of the Obama and Bush presidential campaigns. After the event, we edited the footage down to a six-minute overview—seen above—that has been used for internal purposes at the Joyce Foundation. They also asked us to edit the footage into six shorter clips—each answering a single question—that were used in an e-newsletter, as a promotional tool for an upcoming event and as entries in their video library. The Joyce Foundation: New Media Panel Discussion Teaser

The Joyce Foundation hired Rush Powers Media to record a 90-minute panel discussion on microtargeting, netroots mobilization and e-advocacy. We edited the footage down into an introduction, three featured presentations, and a Q&A session. In addition, we edited a six-minute overview of the event and a 60-second teaser (the clip above) to drum up interest in the content. All of these clips were posted on The Joyce Foundation website and incorporated into an email blast.

During his time as Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music television channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers oversaw the writing and editing of hundreds of daily news segments. Occasionally, he was able to break away from the office and interview an artist. He sat down with legendary rapper Nas a couple of days after Barack Obama's historic acceptance of the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

During his time as Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music television channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers oversaw the writing and editing of hundreds of daily news segments. Occasionally, he was able to break away from the office and interview celebrity talent for a story. He caught up with Mark Wahlberg and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges at a media event a couple of days before the release of their film Max Payne, then wrote and post produced the story for air.

Occasionally, he was able to break away from the office and interview celebrity talent for a feature story. He caught up with The Office's Rainn Wilson at a press junket for his film "The Rocker," and wrote and post produced several feature segments about the movie--including this one about Rainn's preparation for his role.

Who Is Hurricane Chris?

Before assuming the role of Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers produced several segments for the fledgling channel. He field produced this artist profile of Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris on the set of his "Hand Clap" video (while simultaneously shooting a "Making the Video"-style segment), then post produced both segments back in the Sprint TV studios. This is an example of a profile without any voice-over narration. The entire story is told by the relevant characters' interviews, music and images.

Roadrunner Records hired Rush Powers Media to produce, shoot, edit and deliver a series of eight web-ready interview clips that were used as pre-album-release promotional materials for Australian rock band Airbourne. The clips appeared on the band's official site and Roadrunner Records' website.

Rock Band Covers Lil Wayne

During his time as Supervising Producer of Sprint TV's SEE Music—a music television channel exclusively available on Sprint mobile phones—Dave Powers oversaw the writing and editing of hundreds of daily news segments. Occasionally, he'd also write and post produce segments, which was the case with this story about rock band Framing Hanley's popular cover of rapper Lil Wayne's smash hit "Lollipop." The segment includes a portion of a SEE Music phone interview with Framing Hanley's frontman, Nixon.

Community Media Workshop: Why Attend MMC Conference?

Rush Powers Media produced a series of promotional video clips for the Making Media Connections conference hosted by Community Media Workshop, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization. Our involvement included creative development, shooting testimonial interviews and additional footage during the two-day event, editing the video clips and delivering the finished product in a web-ready format.
